What I’m Thankful For This Thanksgiving

Hello friends!! The United States celebrates Thanksgiving tomorrow. It’s also my birthday, which is irrelevant, but I just wanted to put that in… Anyways, Thanksgiving is going to look really different for everyone celebrating this year. Nevertheless, I wanted to focus on what’s good instead of bad (for a change)!! So, in the true spirit of Thanksgiving, I’m going to be sharing a few things that I’m thankful for.

My family

Of course we have our many problems, but my family has such a great bond. I’m extremely lucky to have amazing sisters whom I can easily talk to and love to hang out with. I also have to include my cat, Kobi in this because he’s basically a person.

Friends

Despite my insecurities, I really do have a great group of friends. Sure, they’re not perfect, but they’re getting me through high school and they’re some really great and loving people. (Really convincing, huh?)

Food

Last year, I would definitely not have said this, but it’s been an eventful 12 months. Now, food makes me so happy. I find myself perfectly content as I indulge in a fulfilling meal. No, I’m more  than content, I fricking glow.

Health and safety

It’s a really scary time, and our health and safety are more important than ever. I’m thankful that I’m healthy and able to exercise, and I’m especially thankful for those, nurses and doctors inparticular, risking their lives for the safety of others.

Dogs

Dogs make me so happy. My golden retriever, Franklin, is so sweet and cute and honestly an amazing creature. To elaborate on just how much I love dogs- I stare dogs down and their owners think I’m gawking at them. For real, my teammates must find it bizarre because I will not talk and then I’ll see a dog, smile extremely wide, yell “DOG,” and then talk about that dog for a very long time. In summary, I love dogs.

This community

All of you make my life so much better, truly. Blogging has changed my life. I have met so many amazing people, and I’ve really found an outlet which saved my mental health. Also, the fact that I have only received love from everyone, seriously not once have I gotten a negative comment or such, which just proves how strong and amazing this community is.

Those are just a few things that I’m grateful for. I did a gratitude journal for a while, which I would highly recommend. I’m probably going to start it again because it was way too hard to formulate this list if I’m being honest!! Anyway, I’m curious as to what you’re grateful for. Make sure to let me know in the comments! Thank you for reading and happy Thanksgiving!!
