A Simple Self Care Routine For When You Have “No Time”

Hello friends! Let’s face it: school is stressful, and sometimes it can be hard to not feel tired and overwhelmed. I mean for real, who told our teachers that it was okay to give us hours of homework every single night?!?

When school, work, and life can all be too much, it’s important to hit pause and take some time for yourself. In fact, it’s so important that myself and seven other teen bloggers are bringing you some incredibly helpful posts that’ll help you get on your self care game! Make sure to stay to the end to find the other girl’s posts (trust me, you won’t want to miss them)!!

Let’s go back to you really quickly. Chances are that as a student, you are in major need of a self care day, but perhaps you dont have the time. Well, that’s no excuse to neglect your needs! To help you out, I’m sharing my simple self care routine!

I do this at least once every other week at night, but you can do it whenever you want. It’s super simple, and despite the small amount of time it’ll take you, this routine is sure to help you relax! Okay, enough with the rambling! Here’s the routine…

Put away your work

It may not take a lot of convincing, but before you indulge yourself in a self care routine, it’s important that you keep school or anything else that’s bringing you stress away. I mean think about it- how often do you actually stop working?

Shower

Showering is a great first step because it’s relaxing and almost feels like a new start- perfect for separating yourself from your worries! Use that hot water, and maybe a luxurious body wash you have stowed away.

Do something you love

For me, this is watching Law & Order, but you do you!! Whatever makes you happy, whether that’s reading, baking, drawing, anything! It can be difficult to find time to do the things you truly love, so make sure to carve some out when you have time to yourself.

Journal

Journaling is life changing, for real. Set a timer (around 10-20 minutes) for you to just jot down everything in your mind. This process is super helpful when it comes to calming your mind, but at the same time, some things may come out that you weren’t expecting- it’s definitely an experience!
